More Women In Tops Jobs

Women have been through a lot in trying to get to a stand point where they get as much resignation and respect as a man. They started getting more resignation when the crisis of WWII happened the the “We Can Do It!” girl became a thing.

Even still in this time, women still fall under the stereotype of just the housewife and the soccer mom that takes care of the kids. Some believe that should be coming to a change but tend to look over the fact of what it’s like to be a woman and why they can’t have top jobs.

Women In The Workplace… Well Sorta.

One reason people are trying to bring women up in the workplace is based on a survey done in 2014 about gender diversity that said when workplaces have equal amounts of women and men in high-level positions, they make more profit.  “The 2014 survey, which looked at 366 companies, found that companies whose leadership roles were most balanced between men and women are more successful,” it says in the article.

Even though this statement could be true from a statical standpoint we also have to think about the reason why we don’t see a lot of women in top jobs.

Companies of the top dollar and top places need their employees there at certain hours of the day but, as a woman, it is known for them to be the natural caretaker of the family. It says throughout the article that they need more women in jobs for a better success rate in companies. Most high-paying jobs that also take up time from family such as engineering are taken up by men (this is seen as a top job.) Because of the certain things that are required to have these up top jobs most women are not able to do them because of their own family responsibilities.

The Lack Of Effort To Change The Workplace

“However, the survey found, the vast majority of these top jobs are occupied by men. Experts say that companies are making an effort to improve their gender diversity. Still, they’re not doing enough.”

Most people who have worked top jobs in the workplace are men because they are able to work the hours. They get up early in the morning and get home in time just for dinner. Most people have not changed their mindsets because they’re trying to go with what they know works. Hate to break it to them but, times are changing.

There are many things that the workplace could do to make it more eligible for women to do. They could work them within certain hours or let them have a late lunch break to get their kid from school and have a play area for the kids to stay until their mother is done with work. While this can only be done in some workplaces it is still an idea for the workplace to help improve not just the diversity but their overall accomplishment as a workplace.

Even though so companies may never have an ideal equal workplace of high-level men and women, we can always still hope, pray, and work towards it.

Absolutism & Constitutionalism

The Age of Absolutism

The age of absolutism was around the 17th and 18th century when Europe was ruled by “powerful” monarchies which were ruled by monarchs (some that’s head of states such as a king, queen, or emperor. Some countries lived by a country ruled by their constitution which the official word for it is constitutionalism. Constitutionalism is organized by what is best for the people not just for the person in charge.

this is a map of Europe durning the age of absolutism

The Rise of Absolutism and Constitutionalism

Absolutism and constitutionalism came to a rise in Europe in the 15th century but one of the most known people who was a ruler of absolutism was Peter the Great. Peter the Great was a Russian czar (a person in government) who ruled in the 16th century. Peter the Great was an absolute monarch which means he believed that man was evil and one should rule over everyone. Other than Peter being an absolute monarch, he had some good accomplishments such as he created a strong navy, got his army reorganized, etc. Peter the Great during his reign, focused on the development of science and educated his people on technological advancements. He was basically mirroring the Western culture. He also modernized the Russian alphabet, introduced the Julian calendar, and made a Russian newspaper. Peter was known to be a great leader hints the name but since he was an absolute monarch he was also known to be cruel and oppressive. His high taxes led to revolts among his citizens, which were immediately put to an end by the imposing ruler. Peter also drank excessively and had violent tendencies. Peter eventually died and his reign came to an end on February 8, 1725.

What is The Impact of Absolutism and Constitutionalism

There are many examples of how having an absolute and constitutional monarch has made an impact on our world but I have 4 examples in chronological order…

starting with Charles 1, Charles 1 was the son of James. James took the throne but he only took it after he died. Charles was forced to recall the parliament. Charles signed a document that is known as the Petition of Right.  But in the petition of right the king only agreed to four points. The Petition of Rights was made in 1628 complaining about multiply laws (no taxation, no imprisonment without cause, no martial law, etc. Charles imposed fees and fines on the English people to gain money which led his popularity to decrease each year.

Charles ll came to London in 1660. He was a Catholic monarchy which during his ruling it was called the Restoration. During his ruling he made many political acts and laws such as The Habeas Corpus Act guarantees freedom for prisoners and allows them to have a written document that says they can go before the court and specify charges against the prisoner. The Habeas Corpus Act a monarchy could not put someone in jail simply for opposing the ruler. Also, prisoners could not be put in jail forever without trial. Soon the Parliament would find someone to inherit Charles’s throne but since he had no children the next available in line was his brother James ll. James ll became king in 1685 soon after Charles ll died. James soon offended his subject by displaying his catholicism. He then violated the English law as he appointed several Catholics to high office. In 1688 James’s second wife gave birth to a son. The English Protestants became afraid of the prospect of a line of catholic kings. He even had a daughter named Mary. Mary was married to William, The prince of the Netherlands. The parliament members invited William and Mary to overthrow James for the sake of Protestantism. But then once William led his army to London in 1688, James fled to France. This bloody overthrow was called the Glorious Revolution.

Oliver Cromwell was a political and military leader.Cromwell was the first to write a detailed new constitution known as the Instrument of the Government. It placed great power in the executive formed by the ‘Protector’ many of the members were military commanders. The country continued to be governed by military rule however according to the Instrument the Protector was to summon Parliament at least once every three years. This was a constitution which reduced the power of the Council and recommended that Cromwell proclaim himself King. Cromwell was one of the generals on the parliamentary side in the English Civil War against King Charles I. Cromwell helped bring about the overthrow of the Stuart monarchy and as lord protector he raised his country’s status  leading the European power.

King William and Mary transferred England from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy. This constitutional monarchy limited the power of the ruler and gave that power back to the people. In order to protect this, the Bill of Rights was erected. The Bill of Rights stated the rights of the citizens that lived within their borders. The English Bill of Rights was an act signed into law in 1689 by William III and Mary II, who became co-rulers in England after the overthrow of King James II. The bill had specific constitutional and civil rights and ultimately gave Parliament power over the monarchy. These rights couldn’t be enacted without the consent of the Monarch and in the 1700s this came to be an issue. So they created another part of the government called the cabinet. The cabinet was a group of representatives led by the Prime Minister: the leader of the parliament; that represented the ruler’s name and became the link between the monarchy and the parliament. This all created an everlasting change that forever changed England from an absolute and unjust rule to a more fair and balanced constitutional system.

270 To Win: Who Will Win?

In the past year of 2020, we have had trouble with racial issues and politics. Heartbreak from tragic deaths and separatins. And 6 feet at all times posted everywhere from public places to the media. From Eddie Van Halen’s death to a worldwide pandemic we’ve seen, been, and thought of it all. In the midst of all this chaos, we are still having our annual 4-year presidential election. Which raises the question, Trump 2020 or Biden 2020?

The 45th President, Donald J. Trump Speaking At A Rally

Donald’s Trumps Scandals, Policies, & Accomplishments

4 years ago, Donald Trump won the presidency in the 2016 presidential election as a Republican. When coming into office he made clear that his main goal was to erase the Obama administration that has/will make an impact on the environment, economy, and finical systems. Since Trump is a part of the Republican party, he mainly focuses on the ecomny, law enforcement, gun control, immigration, foreign relation, etc. . In Trump’s 2016 campaign 2016, he made many promises in his campaign and has been the only president in history to take the time to put most of them into place and executed his plans. The reshaping judiciary is one of the examples to use. He said and I quote “I am looking for judges and have actually picked 20 of them. They’ll respect the Second Amendment and what it stands for and what it represents,” the second amendment in our constitution protects our gun rights. While the Democrats are trying to put many limits on our gun rights the Republicans say it should be otherwise. In a most southern state like Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. this could be something to help Trump out a tremendous amount He’s also helped lower the unemployment rate for blacks, women, Asian Americans, and Hispanic Americans. 11.4 million. That’s how many new jobs the U.S. economy has added since May—” is what whitehosue.gov says in the economy section of their website.

This is A Picture of Vice President Biden At One of His Rallies

Joe Biden or Should I Say, Kamala Harris Accomplishments

Joe Biden is President Trump’s Democratic challenger in the 2020 presidential debate. Joe Biden has served as the Democratic United States Senator of Delaware from 1973 to 2009. The left side of the house focus on healthcare, green power, covid-19, etc. Joe Biden has also run for president 2 times in the past and lost. Biden’s main focus in his campaign for the past couple of months has been about covid-19. America is fed up with wearing a mask & not being able to go places (very big public places and workplaces). Joe Biden plans to have another shut down like we had in the middle of May 2020 where everything was shut down and you couldn’t be with anyone in a public place if they weren’t family. For those of us who have no life, it’s no problem for my people who travel and have jobs, best of luck to you if he wins. The far left side is also into everything about green power and everything good for their environment. Vice President Biden plans to make the world have a “cleaner energy future” place. ” ‘—  from roads and bridges, to energy grids and schools, to universal broadband. Biden will soon release updated proposals to meet the climate crisis, build a clean energy economy,  address environmental injustice, and create millions of good-paying union jobs.’ ” it says on joebiden.com. These are all things that Joe Biden has said that he is going to do if he is nominated. While being in the Senate of Delaware was pass the Crime Bill in 1994.

Conflict Between The Two

Now you wouldn’t think these two don’t get along for oblivious reasons. Both running in the same part of the debate with very different outlooks on certain political issues. If you have ever watched or heard one of their political debates you should know that they both have one plan and one plan only, to win.

Trump tends to put a lot on Joeshp Biden and say many things of why he is not suited for a president. “The Biden plan will turn America into a prison state locking you down while letting the far-left rioters roam free to loot and burn,” Trump thundered Sunday at a rally in Iowa, one of the five he held in battleground states. On the Democratic side of the house, they want to let immigrants from other countries come whenever they want no matter what their intentions are.

Biden said, “America was on the verge of putting an end to a presidency that’s fanned the flames of hate.” It is known that Trump in Biden does not get along I mean, have you seen or heard anything they say to each other at their debates? They don’t really follow the think before you speak act we learned in school. The two candidates make it seem like they do not see eye to eye on anything except wanting to win and making America their version of good.

After reading through all of the polls and getting to know what these two candidates are really about I am happy to say that I would be voting for Kayne West because America is screwed anyways.

4 Reason Why Dance is Good For You!

You may want to get started in the ballet, get to dance with someone special, or get down on the floor by dancing to some hip hop but whatever it is you wanna do, here are 6 ways to become a better dancer!

Helps You Stay Healthy!

Dance is a physical activity that can be done by anyone just like any other physical activity. Dance shower shown by statics can 250 to 400 calories for just an hour session of dance! Dance is known to effectively promote good health by improving your cardiovascular fitness, strengthing muscles, decreasing blood pressure, and other good health benefits.

This Is A Picture Of People Practicing Dancing

Good for Mental Health/Mind

One of the most important things in this world is a person’s mental health. This controls how you think feel, and most of your actions. We all deal with stress and some people have anxiety on top of that, dance is a way that can be used to take some of that stress and anxiety away. From moving around so much it keeps the circulation in your brain going which can make you more focused It also helps sharpen your mind and your movements so you’re least stiff. Go get out there grandma!

Good for Bones and Joints

Believe it or not, we all get old one day. Dance is a weight-bearing activity which just means that its great for your bones. Weight-bearing causes new tissues to form, which makes the bones stronger. The National Osteoporosis Foundation cites dance as a great high-impact, weight-bearing exercise that builds strong bones. If you start dancing at a young age and continue it can be very good for when you get older and your bones start to deteriorate you won’t be at such a higher risk of anything happening to your bones. “The evidence is clear that regular weight-bearing physical activity plays an important role in bone development, maintaining bone density and muscle strength; bones react to pressure and strain by becoming stronger,” says Anthony Dileo of Melbourne Osteopathy Group

Can Build Confidence

For those of you who are on the more cautious side of what you’re doing and how you look, dance is all about going with the flow and looking stupid at first then mastering it. Do you think that Anna Pavlova one of the most talented Russian prima ballerinas got to the ballet bar and did it perfect her first time? Would be great if she did but she didn’t. Knowing that you have gotten better and work hard for you wanted to accomplish then you do it makes you believe in what you do and have confidence in yourself. As Anna Pavlova said, “Success depends in a very large measure upon individual initiative and exertion, and cannot be achieved except by a dint of hard work.

The Scarlet Ibis; Untrue Story, Real Connection

Human nature. The book’s definition of this would be, “the general psychological characteristics, feelings, and behavioral traits of humankind regarded as shared by all humans.” To sum that down it means that we all have feelings and meaning to the way we behave. These feelings can be good or bad and can also take control of us as shown in The Scarlet Ibis.

To show you what I mean by that let us start out with my first universal theme which is love vs.pride. Love is something that can be universal to the person itself but for the purpose of what I am trying to get across it is going to be a deep affection. In this story, Brother loved Doodle for he was so excited to have a little brother to play with but Brother also let this image in his head become his reality which is where pride comes in. Pride is something that we as humans also feel. This feeling can be described when you get a good grade on that test you studied for or just prayed that you at least made a 75 or above. You get a great feeling because of what you accomplished. Brother was not happy with Doodle’s outer appearance and couldn’t even stand to be seen with him. Brother made Doodle do a series of exercises to make him stronger and to have the little brother that was in his head. Brother took pride in what his brother was accomplishing like it was him doing it. Brother did not take into consideration what his brother Doodle was actually capable of. He was blinded by his pride which, eventually caused the death of his brother Doodle. Pride is something we all feel. When something we do makes us happy and we are good at it we almost brag about it to the point it can make people annoyed or upset. Sometimes we even take pride in the way that we look and flaunt it around and make others feel a sense of insecurity. We take so much pride in ourselves that we don’t even notice how we affect others but that’s a human thing. You can’t blame Brother for killing Doodle because he was only trying to make him better now what he was making him better for was, of course, terrible but he was doing what made him feel better and look better, it’s in a humans nature to do that.

Another universal theme that can be used for The Scarlet Ibis is expectation vs. reality. Us as humans have our own idea of how we see our lives in the future or how we’re gonna look in a certain dress or even how we look out on the football field catching that ball but then in reality we made a really weird face, didn’t catch the ball, and fell on our butt in front of the whole team. Talk about embarrassing. Doodle’s brother did the same thing in this story. Brother had his own idea of how doodle was going to be. He was going to be healthy, always able to play, no struggle brother but, he was in for quite an awaking when Doodle was born. When the birth of his brother Doodle happened he had this image in his head of what he wanted his brother to be and to do with him. When his brother realizes that Doodle is not what he wanted him to be he is disappointed and pushes his brother away and is basically ashamed of him. He goes against the odds of his brother is vs. being what he wants and tries to mold Doodle into the brother of his mind or dreams you could say. The brother was not the only one that had expectations in Doodle though. Doodle’s parents had a coffin for him built when he was born and didn’t even bother to name him for the first 3 months of his life. Brother even had an expectation of how Doodle was gonna be at the end of his exercises which eventually causes his brother accidental death and trades a brother that did not fit his expectations for no brother at all.

I hope after reading you don’t just realize that we are all people who make mistakes but are able to at least think through these questions carefully.

Why do we as people set up expectations that we know we will most likely get disappointed by?

Why do we take pride in things we do for other people even though we are really doing it for ourselves?

Why do we try to make something that can’t be, be that something?
